One of the strangest things about adversity is that it often becomes useful later.
The thing you never wanted to experience becomes the thing that allows you to connect with someone else.
The layoff.
The failure.
The depression.
The uncertainty.
Nobody signs up for those experiences.
But they create perspective.
And perspective creates value.
I’ve found that some of the most meaningful conversations in my life have happened because of things I once wished had never happened.
People don’t connect with perfection.
They connect with honesty.
They connect with resilience.
They connect with someone who has been through something and found a way forward.
Your setback may be preparing you to help someone you haven’t even met yet.
That’s worth considering.
Helping people transform setbacks into confidence and purpose is at the core of my work. Learn more at kinneyconfidence.com.
